Florida Water StarSM is a voluntary certification program for new and existing homes that encourages water efficiency in household appliances, plumbing fixtures, irrigation systems and landscapes. To learn more about the program and how to participate, click through the navigation tabs above.

July is Smart Irrigation Month
The St. Johns River Water Management District is joining members of Congress in recognizing July as Smart Irrigation Month. During the recent session, U.S. Reps. John Linder (R-Ga.), Jim Costa (D-Calif.) and Bart Stupak (D-Mich.) introduced a resolution celebrating July as Smart Irrigation Month to support the irrigation industry’s efforts to educate the public about the importance of using water wisely, responsibly and efficiently. The District also promotes the efficient use of water indoors and outdoors. Through its Florida Water StarSM program, the District promotes efficient, properly functioning irrigation systems as part of the criteria for having a home or business property certified through Florida Water StarSM. Likewise, the District provides tips for saving water indoors and outdoors through its Web site and various publications.
