Meet the Technical Team

Name:Ronald E. Brockmeyer, Jr.

Title:Environmental Scientist V

Brockmeyer has been with the district since April 1994. With more than 30 years of experi­ence in estuarine ecology, he specializes in coastal wetlands systems, including research, restoration and manage­ment of natural, ditched and impounded wetlands.

Primary Initiative Responsibility:

Brockmeyer coordinates the estuaries activities in the basins. He leads resource evaluation and mapping tasks for the initiative and also has coordinated estuarine habitat restoration projects.

Name:David Christian

Title:Professional Engineer

  • Bachelor of Science, Civil Engineering, University of Delaware


Christian has been with the district since October 2005. He specializes in hydrodynamic modeling. His experience includes work on the Indian River Lagoon hydrodynamic model, the St. Johns River Water Supply Impact Study and the Fellsmere Water Management Area wind/​wave analysis.

Primary Initiative Responsibility:

Christian coordinates the engineering and hydro science activities in the Northern Coastal Basins (NCB). He will lead the hydrodynamic and wave modeling work.

Name:Paul Haydt

Title:Senior Project Manager


  • Bachelor of Science, Natural Resource Conservation, University of Florida


Haydt has been with the district since November 1994, specializing in developing and implementing surface water restoration projects within the NCB watersheds.

Primary Initiative Responsibility:

Haydt coordinates partnership projects, including development and implementation of estuarine habitat restoration and water quality projects, and coordination of the interagency Northeast Florida Estuarine Restoration Team.
