Brad Purcell is the director of the Office of Process Excellence and Special Projects at the St. Johns River Water Management District.
Prior to his current role, Purcell served as the district ombudsman and director of the Palatka service center office for three years. In that capacity, he was responsible for regulatory staff charged with reviewing environmental resource and consumptive use permits to ensure consistency with district permitting rules and regulations.
Purcell brings to the agency more than 28 years of diverse professional background. He began his career at the district then worked in the public and private sectors. Outside of the district, Purcell has experience as a policy maker, consultant in the private sector and industry business leader. He also served 12 years as a Putnam County Board of County Commissioner.
In his current role, Purcell directs a team that works with senior managers reviewing agency practices and processes, and recommending improvements that add value to and improve the effectiveness and efficiency of district operations.
Purcell holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from Jacksonville University.
