This property is located on the northwest corner of Lake Monroe in Volusia County.


This property is dominated by marsh associated with Lake Monroe. It also contains the spring run coming from Gemini Springs County Park. The southern portion of the property contains hammock.

Wildlife viewing:

Please respect Florida’s wildlife and use caution while visiting district lands. These are wild animals. For your safety, do not approach or feed any wild animal. White-tailed deer and turkeys can commonly be seen in the uplands. Occasionally numbers of shorebirds and wading birds can be seen near the marsh.

Recreational activities:
  1. The prominent recreational activity on this property is the approximately 2.5 miles paved, multi-use trail that traverses the property and connects Gemini Springs County Park to the north, with Lake Monroe County Park to the south. more info

To ensure public safety and environmental protection, the following are not allowed:

  1. Removal of plants and animals, or archeological or historical/cultural resources
  2. Trapping devices
  3. Off-road vehicles

A small parking area is located on the east side of U.S. 17/92, approximately 1.5 miles north of the Interstate 4 interchange. The property can also be accessed via the multi-use trail that runs from Gemini Springs County Park south to Lake Monroe County Park.
