It’s #NationalLoveaTreeDay! Trees play a crucial role in the water cycle and help in various ways:

🌳Tree roots absorb water from the soil, preventing runoff and soil erosion.

🌳As water moves through the soil, tree roots help filter out pollutants and impurities, improving water quality.

🌳Tree roots help bind soil particles together, reducing erosion caused by rainfall and preventing sediment from entering water bodies.

🌳Trees provide shade, which reduces the temperature of the surrounding area through evapotranspiration.

🌳Tree canopies intercept rainfall, slowing down the rate at which water reaches the ground.

If only there were laws in Florida to protect native trees statewide from development. Like the split oak forest. Or if there were laws about developers planting invasive species like pepperwood and tree of heaven or Chinese chestnut, all of those attract invasive insects, which further destroy healthy native forests. And have caused the red Florida bay tree to be extinct in the wild.

Meanwhile they're clearing them out and putting solar farms
