Heath Spring is composed of several seeps in a steep sand slope on the southeast edge of a large sinkhole. The source of the clear water is the shallow, water-table aquifer. The seeps are along the periphery of a semicircular shelf with a radius of about 30 feet that appears to have been excavated into the hillside. Flows from the seeps converge northwestward to accumulate in a small shallow pool on the edge of the shelf. The shelf then overflows into a 2-foot-wide, shallow ditch about 150 feet long and goes down into a marshy pond in an adjacent sinkhole, 10 to 15 feet below the level of the seeps.
