Lake Apopka Loop Trail sets the scene for race on March 4

MAITLAND, Fla., March 3, 2016 — Visitors to the popular Lake Apopka Loop Trail should expect larger-than-usual crowds this weekend. Portions of the St. Johns River Water Management District property are part of the mapped route for the Florida Sea to Sea, a 72-hour race that involves trekking, biking, paddling and orienteering across Florida.

Race participants are expected to arrive at the Green Mountain Trailhead in Lake County at 11 a.m. Participants will follow the racecourse along the Lake Apopka Loop Trail. The Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive, located east of the trail, will remain open during the race.
