Media Advisory – District properties set the scene for birding tours

MAITLAND, Fla., Jan. 24, 2017 — Known for their enticing wildlife habitats, two of the St. Johns River Water Management District’s properties are being featured during the Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival.

WHAT: Space Coast Birding and Wildlife Festival
WHEN: Jan. 25-30, 2017
WHERE: Multiple locations

Participants can register for a guided tour of Hal Scott Regional Preserve and Park set to take place Jan. 29. The area covers 9,387 acres of flatwoods and open prairies that straddle the Econlockhatchee River in east Orange County. On Jan. 26-28 participants can take guided tours of Lake Apopka North Shore, which has become one of the premier locations to observe birds in the southeastern United States. Preregistration is required.
