Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive open on Presidents’ Day

MAITLAND, Fla., Feb. 16, 2017 — The St. Johns River Water Management District’s popular wildlife drive at Lake Apopka is open on Presidents’ Day, Monday, Feb. 20.

A recently launched audio guide provides visitors with a narrative on the area’s history, wildlife and district-led restoration efforts. Since the drive has opened, more than 100,000 visitors have experienced a variety of wildlife viewing opportunities along a network of wetlands, levees and canals.
