Wildfire reported at Seminole Ranch Conservation Area

Fire burning in an open marsh

MAITLAND, Fla., July 20, 2017 — The district is responding to a wildfire reported on the Seminole Ranch Conservation Area (at the convergence of Orange, Brevard, Volusia and Seminole counties).

The lightning-ignited wildfire is in a marshy area located on the east side of the property, south of Hatbill Road. It is not located near any residences. The wildfire is estimated to be about 40 acres.

The district is onsite with Florida Forest Service and will monitor the wildfire overnight. Because there is not the potential for this wildfire to impact homes, an update will be shared first thing Friday morning.
