Half marathon draws runners to Lake Apopka North Shore

The district’s Lake Apopka North Shore has become a popular recreation area in central Florida.

MAITLAND, Fla., August 4, 2017 — Visitors to the St. Johns River Water Management District’s Lake Apopka North Shore should expect larger-than-usual crowds this weekend. Portions of the property’s nonmotorized loop trail are part of the mapped route for the 2017 Magnolia Park Forest Run.

Race registration opens at 6 a.m. at the Magnolia Park trailhead. Runners will follow a marked racecourse along the Lake Apopka North Shore’s Loop Trail.
