Staff assessed properties for public safety following Hurricane Dorian

PALATKA, Fla., Sept. 6, 2019 — The St. Johns River Water Management District has reopened all of its conservation lands to public recreation following Hurricane Dorian, except for the island portion of Murphy Creek Conservation Area. Openings occur after district staff complete a safety assessment of recreational access points, levees, trails and boat ramps.

Additionally, Hal Scott Regional Preserve and Park is open but flooded in places. The reservable campsite is closed at this time due to limited vehicular access. Also, Canaveral Marshes Conservation Area is open but very flooded. Please use care on these properties.
