District to close portions of Burnt Island Road in Lochloosa Wildlife Conservation Area

A portion of Burnt Island Road will be closed to the public beginning May 9 in order to repair the airboat crossing in Lochloosa Wildlife Conservation Area.

PALATKA, Fla., May 5, 2022 — The St. Johns River Water Management District will close a portion of Burnt Island Road in Lochloosa Wildlife Conservation Area from May 9 through May 13 to conduct repairs to a nearby airboat crossing. During this time, public access to the Burnt Island public parking lot, pavilion, boat ramp and fishing pier will be prohibited.
