District seeks feedback at Southern Recreational Public Meeting

The District invites the public to attend the Southern Recreational Public Meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, April 22, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. The meeting will take place at the District’s Palm Bay Service Center, Blue Cypress Room, located at 525 Community College Parkway SE, Palm Bay, FL 32909.
The purpose of this meeting is to engage stakeholders and gather public input regarding recreational use of District conservation lands within the Indian River Lagoon and Upper St. Johns River Basin, which includes Brevard, Indian River, Osceola, and Okeechobee counties. District staff will be on hand to receive comments and answer questions from attendees.
Topics to be discussed during the meeting include:
- Overview of recreation on District land in the Indian River Lagoon and Upper St. Johns River Basin.
- Land management and operations updates
- Headwaters Lake aquatic plant management update
- Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) Q&A session
- Opportunity for public comment
