Burrell Lock will open for navigational use on Feb. 16.
The temporary closure was part of the District’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the performance, safety and reliability of our waterway systems. Crews worked on essential construction and maintenance work to ensure the lock continues operating efficiently for years to come.
Commissioned in 1957 and located in Lake County, the Burrell Lock plays an important role in regional flood control and provides safe passage for boaters traveling between Lake Eustis and Lake Griffin.
