Burrell Lock to reopen for boat traffic on July 2

The Distric will reopen Burrell Lock in the Upper Ocklawaha River Basin to boat traffic on Thursday, July 2, following a scheduled maintenance closure.
While still in the process of completing minor maintenance repairs to optimize lock operation for the long term, the lock will reopen ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend following extensive rehabilitation work. The lock closure was part of the District’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the performance, safety and reliability of our waterway systems.
