As September begins, much of the St. Johns River Water Management District has now experienced approximately one year of below-average rainfall, highlighting how drought conditions develop gradually and why water resource recovery can take much longer than several rainfall events

The Apopka-Beauclair Lock will be temporarily closed to navigation from Monday, Sept. 14, through Thursday, Sept. 17, to allow for a scheduled inspection of the lock's concrete and steel structure.
The lock is expected to reopen and resume normal operations on Friday, Sept. 18.
