PALM BAY, Fla., July 21, 2016 — An eroded shoreline within the Canaveral National Seashore is set to be restored and stabilized, following an expedited permit approval by the St. Johns River Water Management District.

PALATKA, Fla., July 21, 2016 — The St. Johns River Water Management District is pitching in to make a difference with algal bloom concerns in south Florida. The District is turning on pumps at Canal 54 (C-54), which is located five miles north of the city of Fellsmere and will redirect more than 6,300 gallons of water each minute.

The St. Johns River Water Management District’s summer StreamLines magazine is now available online. The latest edition celebrates the completion of the Upper St. Johns River Basin Project, showcases a farming family that participates in the District’s successful agricultural cost-share program, looks at accomplishments in the northern stretch of the St. Johns River as partners mark the 10-year anniversary of the River Accord, and takes a look at the year-round, ongoing emergency training among District staff.
