District to close portions of Lake Apopka North Shore beginning March 20

Re-decking of the Bailey bridges at County Road 448A (McDonald Boat Ramp) and Welland Road (Unit 2 pumphouse) will begin Feb. 20.

PALATKA, Fla., Feb. 21, 2023 — The St. Johns River Water Management District will be conducting maintenance at the Lake Apopka North Shore property beginning March 20. During this time, the McDonald Canal Boat Ramp, the Shad Boat Ramp and the North Shore Trailhead will be inaccessible.

While the work is expected to be completed by Friday, March 24, any construction delays may prohibit us from opening the Lake Apopka Wildlife Drive.
