Temporary closure of Burrell Lock begins July 18

Burrell Lock will be closed until this winter.

The District will temporarily close the Burrell Lock, located in the Upper Ocklawaha River Basin, beginning Friday, July 18, to facilitate essential construction upgrades. This scheduled closure is part of the District’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and enhancing the efficiency of our waterway systems. During the closure period, access to the Burrell Lock will be restricted to accommodate the necessary construction activities. The District acknowledges the inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation in ensuring the successful completion of these improvements.
