District to host public meeting on Lower St. Johns River Basin Plan

The St. Johns River at Jacksonville lies within the Lower St. Johns River Basin, a 4,500-square-mile watershed stretching from the Palatka area to the Atlantic Ocean. The basin includes dense urban areas, conservation lands, and productive agricultural and silvicultural lands.
The St. Johns River Water Management District (District) will host a public meeting on the draft 2026 Lower St. Johns River Basin Plan. District staff will present updated regional priorities and objectives, answer questions, and provide an opportunity for public comments.

  • Time: 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. 
  • Where: District Headquarters – 4049 Reid Street, Palatka, FL 32177 
  • Attendance: Register here (required for both in-person and virtual attendance)  

The draft basin plan will be posted on the District’s website Sept. 30.  A formal public comment period will be open from Sept. 30 through Oct. 21.
