The District, in partnership with Brevard Zoo, recently hosted a Project WET workshop for Brevard Public Schools educators. Held on Feb. 11, the workshop provided teachers with dynamic, hands-on training to inspire and equip them to bring water and climate education into their classrooms, helping to foster a new generation of environmental stewards.

February rainfall across the District was below average for the month, with 16 counties receiving less than their typical monthly totals. Meanwhile, eight counties remained above their 12-month rainfall average, while Osceola, Brevard, Indian River, and Alachua counties were at least four inches below their annual norms. Despite these regional variations, aquifer levels remain healthy.

Road construction for the First Coast Expressway continues on State Road 16, making access to the J.P. Hall Bayard Point Conservation Area trailhead parking area difficult to spot. The entrance road to the parking area is 0.4 miles east of Owens Road or 1.2 miles west of Susan Drive in Clay County.
