We want to ensure you have the tools you need to be productive and successful from day one. You will meet with the Human Resources team on your first day of employment to complete required documentation, address questions about your Benefits, and learn more about the tools available to you at SJRWMD.
It is important that you bring appropriate documentation for use in completing required documents during your first day orientation:
- Social Security Card
- Driver’s License
- Acceptable Documents to Bring for I-9 Completion:
Select from List A (or) List B and C - Bank Information for Direct Deposit
- Voided Check or Deposit Slip

At St. Johns River Water Management District, we understand the successful achievement of our mission and strategic objectives start with you. As you strive for success in your new role and navigate your career, we want to offer you the tools and support you need to maximize your contribution and effectiveness.
Onboarding
On your first day of employment, you will meet with your supervisor, the Office of Information Technology and Human Resources to complete your onboarding. You will also receive an invite to the next quarterly New Hire Orientation, where you will hear from District leaders about important District initiatives.
Performance Objectives and Competencies
We believe both results achieved and how they are achieved are important. As part of your onboarding experience, you will meet with your manager to review performance objectives and the critical knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics that will be important to your success. Your manager will also review with you the District’s competencies, which are aligned with District’s core values of accountability, partnership, respect, results, and trust. Competencies are important for ensuring individual and organizational success, they are qualities that help promote performance and career growth.
Learning and Development Opportunities
We offer several opportunities for growth and development, including technical and leadership training, assessment/coaching, on-the-job experiences, support for credential / license attainment, and a tuition reimbursement program. You will have the opportunity to complete an individual development plan tailored to your performance expectations and career goals.
Welcome to the My Retirement webpage that is designed to assist retirees with group health benefit information including medical, dental and vision coverage.
As a retiree that has elected to continue one or more health coverages, you will receive a letter each year regarding Open Enrollment. You may attend an Open Enrollment presentation or email BenefitAssist@sjrwmd.com for more information and any questions you may have.
During Open Enrollment you may delete dependents, add eligible dependents or cancel coverage. Changes made during Open Enrollment are effective January 1st. If you elect to cancel coverage in a plan, you will not be able to re-enroll in the future.
Additionally, if you do not continue your medical, dental or vision coverage when you retire, you cannot re-enroll in a plan.
