Burrell Lock will open for navigational use on July 2.
While still in the process of completing minor maintenance repairs to optimize lock operation for the long term, the lock will reopen ahead of the Fourth of July holiday weekend following extensive rehabilitation work. The lock closure was part of the District’s ongoing commitment to maintaining and improving the performance, safety and reliability of our waterway systems.
Commissioned in 1957 and located in Lake County, Burrell Lock plays an important role in regional flood control and provides safe passage for boaters traveling between Lake Eustis and Lake Griffin.
