✅ Project Complete: Crane Creek/M-1 Canal Flow Restoration

We’re proud to announce that the Crane Creek/M-1 Canal Flow Restoration Project is officially complete — a prime example of how strategic state investment delivers measurable environmental benefits. 🌊💧

Originally built over 100 years ago, the M-1 Canal carried stormwater — and harmful nutrients — into the Indian River Lagoon, fueling algae blooms and harming water quality.

This project changes that. By adding a new weir, pump stations, a pipeline, and a stormwater treatment area, we’ve:

⭐Restored natural flow to the St. Johns River Basin
⭐Reduced nutrient pollution to the lagoon
⭐Provided up to 7 million gallons of fresh water per day for downstream users

📸 Pictured: SJRWMD Governing Board Chair Rob Bradley, Vice Chair Maryam Ghyabi White, Governor Ron DeSantis, and DEP Secretary Alexis Lambert.
